Description:
“Vienkiemis” homestead is situated near the Kretinga town at the bottom of the river Akmena beside the Kurmaičiai pond. The territory covers 5 hectares.
This place has now long been a favourite holiday resort for visitors from a number of countries including Ireland, Germany, Holland, Spain and Italy.
Time in “Vienkiemis” flies fast both for adults and children. Children have a playground and a slide in the open air for them and a hanging bridge over the Akmena river, and there is a tennis court for grown-ups. Akmena river is open for boat trips and water bikes. Bikers can explore Kretinga surroundings.
A mini-zoo nearby inhabits a wide variety of birds: hens, geese, ducks, turkeys and swans. In winter, six storks take shelter in the homestead. A yak, a hind, a roe, a ram, goats and goatlings and black Vietnamese pigs also live there.
A 140 year-old barn made into a museum is a remnant of the past. It houses many ethnographical exhibits like home utensils of our ancestors and disused agricultural implements. The barn also has two ancient-décor furnished living-rooms.
For those who love a good steam, two rural saunas are set on the river bank. When winter comes, the steam never fades until dawn…
The main building houses a modern sauna and a swimming-pool with cascades and underwater massage currents.
Wooden thatched houses guarantee a good night’s sleep. There are two types of houses, those with a bedroom, a living-room, a kitchen, a shower, a WC, a TV set, or those with two bedrooms, a living-room with a fireplace, a kitchen, a shower, a WC and other accommodation.
The main “Vienkiemis” building offers 4 suites and 4 double rooms.
“Vienkiemis” is a perfect resort for families, individuals, people on business trips and conferences. It is a good place for parties and New Year’s Eve celebrations as well.
While staying at our homestead, you will have no need to cook as there is a restaurant for 40 people at your service offering Lithuanian and foreign cuisine. An outdoor café is open during summer time. This spring a new tavern housing 300 people and a conference hall for another 70 was opened.
Visit “Vienkiemis” homestead all year round – you are bound to have a wonderful time and a good rest.

Homestead feels like home
Those who long for their childhood summers spent in the countryside far from the bustling city, will be warmly welcomed by the owners of “Vienkiemis” homestead. A village of 13 houses in Padvariai, Kretinga region, is an ultimate lure with its romantic nature, ancient cottages, hot sauna steam and Samogitian cuisine.
Walker’s paradise
Visitors to “Vienkiemis” situated 10 kilometres off Palanga have a vast selection of rural entertainment facilities. They can start their stay with a trip round the territory of the grange. A walk through the cobbled paths will take you back to an ancient Lithuanian village as it was a century ago.

Cookery wonders
The entertainment continues at a plentiful dinner table. Two cafes await the guests: an outdoor one in the nature and a recently opened tavern housing 300 people.
Prepare your stomachs for a real adventure! Ancient Samogitian cuisine will amaze you not only by the quantity of the courses, by also by their names. “We invented the names ourselves to make them sound funny and interesting,” – Jolanda Šoblonskienė says. „Šmakalas“, „Semėninė“, „Sheperd‘s dinner“ or „Woodward‘s dream“ – for everyone‘s resources and appetite. Potato snacks and toasted bread with cheese are accompanied by five beer sorts. Those longing for a hot Samogitian course can have a hearty noble meal on a big tray or a rich “Herring polka”.
Gourmands can choose a variety of European cuisine: chicken, turkey and other roasts, scorpion fish, and 7 other kinds of fish as well as crepes and other heartwarming desserts.
